I am originally from Europe and I love nature in all its facets. It has become a primary subject of my work. Other subject matter has included social chasms, cultural connections, epistolary memories and the evolution of women's place in society. I apply the same ethos to experimental film, documentary film, painting, mixed media, photography and motion graphics.
I have been teaching for over 25 years and have taught Directing the Documentary, Editing Theory and Techniques, Compositing, Concepts and Storyboards, and Motion Graphics. I am interested in creative pedagogical practice for both synchronous and asynchronous educational models.
Teaching is a wonderful privilege and a vocation that is extraordinarily humbling. My students are, and have always been, a great source of inspiration and pride.
I am a grant recipient from the Georgia Council for the Arts, the National Association of Television Program Executives and have been awarded the Excellence in Distance Learning Teaching Bronze Award from the United States Distance Learning Association, the Instructional Technology Council's Distinguished Educator Award, the 2012 Blackboard Catalyst Exemplary Course Award and was recently honored by the Savannah College of Art and Design as a professor emerita.
I currently reside on a daylily farm alongside my husband and three sizable cats.
